witnessing the revolution of April 2019 in Khartoum was a “once in a life time” experience. The air was charged with hope, defiance, and an unyielding demand for change. Being present in those historic moments felt like holding a lens to the heartbeat of a nation, capturing its pain, resilience, and a form of unity that I have never felt before. I felt immense pride to see people from all walks of life—young and old, women and men, urban and rural—coming together under the banner of freedom, peace, and justice.
my intention wasn’t to simply document what was happening—it was far more personal and purposeful. I wanted my photographs to serve as a call to action, an invitation for others to join us in this extraordinary moment. Through the lens, I hoped to convey the energy, the unity, and the unwavering belief in change, urging those who hadn’t yet joined to stand with us.
I was simply saying "Look at this—look at us. This is your revolution too". And even now, those images remain a reminder that we were not just witnesses to a revolution—we were its architects, united by a shared vision of a better Sudan.
